Working with Nina Sutherland...

I had the great pleasure of working with professional photographer, Nina Sutherland recently. She was in town shooting a wedding at Berry College and needed a second photographer. Of course I said yes, and I was honored that she thought of me. It was a beautiful location and a beautiful day for a wedding. I only have access to the shots I took during the reception, but Nina has posted a few on her blog. For more shots of the ceremony, go check out:
Nina Sutherland's Blog.
Thank you Nina for the incredible opportunity, I can't wait to work with you again.

Random pics....

I didn't know what group these photos would belong to, so I gave them their own post.
-The first is a totally goofy photo but I had to put it up here. Two things... A. If you like Tanya Tucker enough to take up your entire back window with her song quote...there's a problem. A hilarious problem, but a problem none the less. B. It is never too late to do the right thing...start with a razor blade and some Windex and get that window clean.
-Dog riding a jet ski, self explanatory, and awesome!
-Cool neon parking sign.
-An unmanned kite....so sad.
-A water spout in the middle of the gulf. Too cool. A mini tornado taking a sip of sea water. Barely caught it before it fizzled out.
-Crazy looking lure on a fisherman's hat.
-Unmanned fishing poles lashed to the pier.
-And last but not least, unmanned flip flops left behind on the beach.
I think that is all for now but you never know. I have a whole other set of photos yet to edit so keep checking in for more.

Have you ever seen the movie 'The Birds'?

First of all, let me explain that I am not a bird enthusiast/watcher. I just happened to get lucky while I was in Florida. I the seagull photos are not photoshopped. The sky was perfect and the birds were inches from my lens hovering in the wind. My brother and I went out to feed them our leftover bread and they decided to pose for us. There is a sequence below where you can see the bird spotting the prize-coming in for a closer look-and taking it from my hand! Awesome! I spotted the Heron and the Crane while I was walking on the pier. And pelicans are just cool. They are everywhere as you walk through Johns Pass. They were a little too flighty to get close to, but I broke out the zoom lens and went into stealth ninja mode. My specialty...

Portraits, portraits, portraits....

Well, this was pretty much our last vacation before we make the transition from twosome to threesome. So I figured I better document it thoroughly. I love shooting in natural light, and sunsets on the beach are the best. I forced Karen to pose for me yet again. I want our boy to be able to see his transition from womb to world when he gets older. He must already feel like he is being stalked by the paparazzi. He will probably be born with an aversion to the sound of a shutter click. Please keep in mind that about 2% the photos I take actually make it here. You do the math....

Here come the blogs....

Whenever I have a bunch of photos at once, I try and divide them into groups....anal retentive I know. Rather than fight the urge to organize, I will just go with it. I figured I would start with some Florida sunsets....Ahhhhh. Storm clouds at sunset, nice combination. It almost takes the edge off returning to real life....almost.
